21st Century Housewife

I didn't mean to become a walking Topshop ad when I put this outfit together but I just loved how each piece complemented the other. I do have to say I wear this jumper ALL the time! Simply because I just love its pastel colour and fabric texture. It reminds me of when clothes become old and worn and start to pill or bobble but being the trend setters that they are, Topshop have turned the fashion faux pas on its head and have created the latest must have item. Obviously I added some gems to this little number as what would your outfit be without some fake jewels ;) My necklace was actually £5 RRP which I think is a bargain when it comes to statement necklaces which normally come with hefty price tags nowadays. Seriously, don't be ashamed, go into your nearest Primark & have a search for cheap & cheerful jewelry that you can wear over & over

Going for a girly look, I decided to match it with this midi lace floral skirt with a mini skirt petticoat. I think it makes the outfit more flirty as it comes across intriguing to the eye and brings wonder to the imagination. Staying within the theme of pastels and mixed textures I had to wear my treasured pink swing boyfriend coat. It's actually sad that this coat will only be 'fashionable' for this season because I plan to wear it forever! Its fluffy AND its pink! Like seriously, what more could you ask for!

No Scrubs

So today I'm channeling my inner TLC. I see myself more like Chile compared to any other members...lol, what do you think?

I wanted to show you guys these comfy cool joggers that I've paired with a few basic items to give a urban yet chic look.

I'm not about to fool anyone and advise wearing this during the day because we all know it's freeeeeezing outside but this look is something I'd wear on a casual night with my girls :) The trick is to only show a little bit of skin whilst still staying warm! And because these joggers are so lightweight they're perfect for if you just wanna 2-step and side shuffle or if you want to get low and impress with that twerk you've been practicing

Enjoy your weekend doll! xx

Get Ready with Me: How I Do My Brows

So as it's Sunday I thought I'd do a relaxed blog post for you all. For some reason I always get complimented on my eyebrows, not really sure because I think they're quite basic lol! But for those of you who want to know how to do them or if your just looking for a few tips then scroll on down!

I always do this routine when I haven't plucked my eyebrows in aaaaaaggges! & in this case ages is about a couple months...I know...the shame! Here are the tools I use to attack my bushes:
Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in 004 (Black Brown)
Slanted Edged Brush (TopShop)
Blending Brush (TopShop)
Mac Concealer in NC50

First off I start by brushing out my brows to make sure they're in the right position & to tame out the bushiness! Also make sure your pencil is sharp! Then outline the shape you want your brows to take. (Apologies for these pictures being cropped...my morning face isn't too attractive!)
Then fill in, or as some of my guy friends like to say, "colour in" the existing brow that you've just created. I don't like to fill mine in from the very beginning as I think it gives a more natural look when my whole face is put together. Then get your pencil brush and just brush out any harsh lines to make them look soft and natural.
After you've softened up your brows, I like to do this next step to clean them up which is always useful if you haven't plucked, waxed or threaded in a while like me! Just like when you outlined your brows using your pencil your going to do exactly that but just with your slanted brush and concealer.
Then just blend your concealer outward so it can be blended in with your skin & foundation.

Then just complete the rest of your makeup! Simple as that really!
I AM IN NO WAY A PROFESSIONAL!
Just sharing my little tip with you guys! Although with all the close ups in this post I think I need to get my eyebrows done ASAP LOL! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday beauties! xxx

Brace the Cold

So I've gone for a more casual look today, jeans, tee and a jacket: simple & achieveable :) I'm not one for planning my outfits the night before as I literally wear what I want depending on my mood. And to be honest, looking outside my window this morning and seeing it was raining cats & dogs, I knew it wasn't going to be anything special.

This jacket is actually one of my favs if I want to dress anything down. With a slightly oversized fit & acid wash you can experiment and have fun with it. I paired it with my little grey beanie...(I say little because my heads so big) and Nike air Max's to show my inner "urban" gal lol! Nahhhhhh I'm just joking, it was cold and these shoes are hella comfy it's like walking on clouds! I feel like they'd be the ultimate show if they lit up when I walked!!

My day involved catching up with my best friend over chicken strips and a rack of ribs so I definitely needed something I could relax and feel fat in! I thought I might need a scarf with this look but luckily it wasn't too bad with the sheepskin interior to keep me warm!

Hope you guys enjoy and have a casual Wednesday!

Texture Clash

Hey you, it's been a while. I know I've been absent from the blogosphere, but I'm back with a whole new look which I hope you all love! As it happens, work, uni & personal life just gets a bit hectic sometimes but you just have to roll with the punches. Having updated my blog, (which I'm still in the process of doing so bare with me) I wanted to share with you my favourite trend this season which is this mix between different textures. It's like the fabric version of colour blocking. There's no right or wrong answer in this department!

Cosy knits have become a key player in this seasons trend base and has made walking out into this cold weather a little more bearable. Having such a soft and cuddly bear like feel, I decided to clash my knit with something more cold and edgy. The combination of a leather look skirt or in this case pvc, gives a more chic rocker look but can also be dressed up with a pair of pointed heels or heeled sandals if you're looking to show of your newly done pedicure! But considering I was off to uni I opted for a casual boot...trying to tone it down a little lol!

Believe it or not I actually bought this jumper in a size 12, a couple sizes up from my original size, hoping to get a more over-sized look but it unfortunately fit perfectly. When I went to go and buy the other sizes up there were only 8 & 10's available so I guess everyone had the same idea as they were all out of stock in everything else.

Enjoy the new website look & stay tuned for more!

Easy Breezy Tuesday

Heeeeeeey!
Hope your all good and well :)
After looking at my pictures for today's post, I've not quite decided what my particular "style" or what my exact "look" is. I like to think I'm a mix of everything. "Cookies & Spice & Everything Nice" Lol! Just realised I quoted the Powerpuff Girls.
I actually thought it was gonna rain today so I went for more 'recluse' type clothing and chose to go dark.

Very much loving this shirt dress! Ties in with the seasons love for monochrome and because of the healthy leg allowance, it was really breezy in today's city heat! It kind of looks like a boyfriend shirt which I thought gave the look a flirtatious and effortless edge. I added some past season work boots and knee high socks (not worn that way) to add a more grunge type look.

Inexpensive sunglasses, a simple bowler hat and a cute leather jacket add some beloved 'City Glamour'!

Today's post is based on the classic white shirt! We've all seen it worn especially as work wear, but as fashion develops the classic item is becoming more of a staple piece. This years runways see the white ensemble transformed with a high element of drama! Here's an example..
