Things I Wish My Mum Had Told Me - Enjoy Yourself

Enjoy yourself

Too many times in life we focus on what's not going right in our lives. We forget about all the things that we've been blessed with, friends, family etc.  Time is the only thing that isn't available for us to waste! Don't waste it complaining about what you don't have. Do your best to enjoy each moment as it comes because before you know it you'll be blowing out candles on a 70th Birthday cake! Smile and laugh until it hurts because those will be the best memories you'll have when you look back on life.

Yes, you might be grinding your ass off right now looking for a job, working or uni. Although, whatever your situation may be, just look at the bigger picture. Work hard at what it may be but don't forget to enjoy yourself. Take some time out for yourself now and then and "smell the roses". Sometimes that's all we need, a little more me time.

Create new memories with the people you love & maybe try something new, something different. Just don't lose yourself whilst trying to succeed.
The journey may long & frustrating.
But you'll get there.
& when you do you'll have done it with a smile on your face.

Things I Wish My Mum Had Told Me - 'It's OK.'

What do you want out of life?

- A Car?
- A House?
- A Relationship?
- A New Job?

There are so many things we all wish to aspire to within the world, but what do you reeeeaaallly want? I'm talking about the thing that keeps you up at night, torturing your thoughts before you fall asleep?
Did your answer change?
Mine Did.

Whether your answer changed or not, it's ok to want things. It's human nature. And it's ok that your path to get these things might not be mapped out just yet. It's all a part of the process. I think we all get so caught up trying to out-do each other, we forget its ok to not have it all figured out like some of our friends do. We're young!!

Knowing what you want doesn't have to be such a black and white area. I know plenty of people who are at Uni studying a specific degree, but if you ask them what they want to do after they graduate, a lot of them are still unsure. It's allowed!

Someone I met recently asked me this question, (at first I was like, Why are you being so deep? I just met you chill out!) but to be honest it hit a nerve because I couldn't give a straight forward answer. There's a bunch of things I want. Success. Money. Love. But looking back, and really thinking about it, the blanks in your story don't need to be filled in right this second. Right now, enjoy the journey and learn from your experiences. Trust me, they build character and broaden your perspective on life.

I'ts ok not having everything "together", but don't let it stop you from working towards what you think "it" is.

Things I Wish My Mum Had Told Me - 'Am I Good Enough?'

Am I good enough?

Don't ever ask yourself this question because you should already know the answer.

YES. YES YOU ARE.

You are more than good. So much more.
You are Smart. Beautiful. Funny. And your energy is on a level most people fail to understand, yet wish to achieve. Do not grade yourself against someone else's standards. Why should you let someone else's comments make you feel small?! Big up your chest and know your worth. Believe in your worth so that others too can see it radiate within you.
When you ask 'Am I good enough?' you're really comparing yourself. You may not feel that way but ultimately you are. You're comparing lifestyles, journeys, skills and maybe even looks. Do not compare yourself to another individual and focus so intensely on your flaws. Your flaws make you beautiful. They make you you! And you can learn a whole lot from them. Understanding that we are all different will help you to understand that we are all made for something different.

I hope that made sense, but yes. Not only are you good enough, You are great enough.
Great enough to do brilliant things. But just don't say it. Honestly you have to believe it. Believe that you can do all things you set your mind to. Whether it's to start your own company, or to go after your dream career don't ever doubt yourself. Doubting only enables over thinking, which ultimately slows down and in some cases hinders our ultimate goals.

Am I good enough?

To be honest I think you already know the answer. You're just scared of what the outcome may be. Don't be afraid because we all fail and stumble but we still get up and try again. No one will judge you for that. And if they do, I promise you those are the type of people that need to be axed from your life.

Be good enough to yourself. To want more for yourself. Surround yourself with positive energy and positive people who will push and motivate you to achieve your goals when you need a little help.

And last but not least be good enough for yourself. At the end of the day if you've made yourself proud and look back and feel achievement and most importantly happiness, then you were never good enough.
You were amazing.

Mom Jeans.

Top - River Island (click to buy)
Jeans - River Island (click to buy)
Shoes - Primark

So after ages of searching, I finally invested in a pair of Mom Jeans! It was taking me ages to find a pair that fit nicely but River Island really came through with this one. Perfect for casual dressing or they can be dressed up for a night out with a pair of heeled sandals. They're actually great if you wanna hide a little junk in the trunk as they don't hug your bum like normal jeans would and give a more relaxed look. My top is also from River Island...it was between the yellow or the white one (they have loads of colours). & I know white goes with more things but I plan to wear this to an upcoming summer festival. Yellow always looks great in the summer time :)

The Little Black Jumpsuit

Jumpsuit - Topshop
Shoes - Zara
Rings - H&M

So I bought this jumpsuit in search for an outfit to wear for my friends birthday. After eating a massive Nandos with my bestfriend and feeling soo bloated whilst trying it on, I wasn't so sure about it but in the words of Gretchen Wiener, "You wouldn't buy a skirt without asking your friends first if it looks good on you." So with the seal of approval I bought it! It comes in both black and white or a spaghetti strap version which comes in an additional red! I'd say a jumpsuit is this seasons substitute for the little black dress! Click here to buy it! Personally I feel this outfit would be perfect for a night out with your friends or date night with your boo ;)

Pursuit Of Happiness

Jumper - Asos
SnapBack - Rooks
Jeans - H&M
Shoes - Converse

As much as I love the city, I do appreciate the peace of the countryside. Mum & I took a walk to go pick some apples in a nearby field.....she walked and I drove in my pimped out whip haha! It actually feels amazing to be home with everyone, even if it is only for a week! (I'm off to Spain next week!) A much needed break from Uni was due, even if I do have tons of work to do over the Easter break.

Nude Kind of Mood

Coat  x  Marks & Spencers
Top  x  Zara
Jeans  x  Primark
Shoes  x  Newlook

My Coat & this top are by faaaar, my favourite purchases of the year so far. Nude is such a subtle and delicate colour which I think everyone can wear! (although we can argue that my coat is camel lol! whatevs.) I'm not sure whether my coat is still being sold in store as we're moving into the spring summer season, but my cami was a steal from Zara at £19.99. Trust me, the amount of compliments you'll get from this top is so worth the price!

M. O. N. O. C. H. R. O. M. E.

Coat x Zara
Turtle Neck x Zara
Jeans x Primark
Boots x H&M
Bag x H&M

I was wearing all black today and thought...damn, the sun is shining and I look like I'm in mourning! So I added a spot of colour by adding my white oversized blazer coat. Absolutely love oversized/boyfriend coats this A/W season! Luckily the suns been making more frequent appearances which means less layers, although I do not trust English weather at alllllllll so I'll definitely be taking my oversized coat obsession into the Spring/Summer. I find them so easy to wear as they can add so much to such a casual outfit. Also i knoooow, I'm in need of a new bag! However, My trusty uni bag hasn't let me down yet but I'm getting bored of it now....thinking to get this one from H&M....yay/nay?

21st Century Housewife

I didn't mean to become a walking Topshop ad when I put this outfit together but I just loved how each piece complemented the other. I do have to say I wear this jumper ALL the time! Simply because I just love its pastel colour and fabric texture. It reminds me of when clothes become old and worn and start to pill or bobble but being the trend setters that they are, Topshop have turned the fashion faux pas on its head and have created the latest must have item. Obviously I added some gems to this little number as what would your outfit be without some fake jewels ;) My necklace was actually £5 RRP which I think is a bargain when it comes to statement necklaces which normally come with hefty price tags nowadays. Seriously, don't be ashamed, go into your nearest Primark & have a search for cheap & cheerful jewelry that you can wear over & over

Going for a girly look, I decided to match it with this midi lace floral skirt with a mini skirt petticoat. I think it makes the outfit more flirty as it comes across intriguing to the eye and brings wonder to the imagination. Staying within the theme of pastels and mixed textures I had to wear my treasured pink swing boyfriend coat. It's actually sad that this coat will only be 'fashionable' for this season because I plan to wear it forever! Its fluffy AND its pink! Like seriously, what more could you ask for!
